Offer Accepted!

Cat and I submitted an offer on a home in Alamogordo – it was accepted! We expect closing in about 30 days. Now the paperwork and packing which we have started both. We’re very very happy. Equipment sales continue – little left, though. No direct loom contacts yet, but we’re not moving them.
Tired but so happy!

Selling Cat’s Looms

Here is a list of the looms Cat is selling now. Consider each and let her know at your early convenience, please. They MUST be sold – we made an offer on a home in Alamogordo today! Anxious on the home! Anxious, especially, to see her looms go to a new home and be loved as much as she has for a very long time…. Thanks a Bunch!  Photos on request – write Cat.  One more loom may be offered – if so, will publish later.

Moving Along

Yesterday I drove the Corvette to Albuquerque. There I met with a man at my bank where after all the paperwork was done he had the keys to the car and my bank account was boosted greatly. We had lunch then he brought me home. Unusual deal – in a phone call he committed to buying saying that no one who owns a Corvette mistreats it. This is 4th ‘Vette. He also has a Jaguar, Lambo, Infinity, and 3 other sports cars. While he is 78, he is not asleep at any wheel.
On return home I dealt with 9 calls about the sales of most of my shop contents. While it was late, came right away and left with truck loads of stuff. There are still biggies like the welding equipment, Powermatic sanders & BIG wood lathe, table saw, and router tables. I’m working on a deal for everything left…….. With the ’41 parts, Corvette, and most of the shop stuff gone, we’ll go look at homes in Alamogordo very soon as we are ready to buy. If it does not have a suitable workshop I’ll go ahead and have one built. While I was gone yesterday, Cat packed stuff most of the time. Even with her physical limitations, she is so remarkable! I’m so thankful and proud of her.
So, we’re moving along, and happily so!

Life’s Adjustments

Cat and I have been here in Magdalena for 16-1/2 years as our intended forever home. Stuff changes. Life gives instructions that are at times a challenge to interpret, yet we listen. Our message of very recent is one of rather large adjustments in our lives.

Intense thought told us to make major changes to our long held plans. We are in the process of greatly downsizing and moving to Alamogordo, NM! We met with a realtor here in Magdalena a few days ago and will be listing our home later this year. We have already started the process. Cat is almost complete packing all of her suns and moons on our walls in the living room. Once that is done she will move to sell all of her remaining floor looms and hundreds of cones of fine weaving yarns. Since she can no longer weave, it is time.

We will be visiting a realtor in Alamogordo very soon. We hope to find a home and buy right away. We can then move our stuff in an organized manner. The sooner we do that the sooner we can list our current home. Tomorrow 3 ads will appear in the Albuquerque Journal. One is to sell the Corvette – we will not need it with the ’41 Ford pickup being completed later this month. Another is to sell the drivetrain from the ’41 along with all the other parts removed and it all loaded on the 10′ trailer. I’ll then buy a 16′ flatbed. That will help us to move a lot of our stuff down South. The final ad might be the most important. It is for selling the vast majority of my shop tools and equipment. There is very little that I’ll keep as since my business is closed, what I’ll work on has changed greatly. Most of what I’ll be doing will be art – welding. Will still do some woods, but welding is my passion. So many designs flood my mind. Will also return to lapidary. That was so peaceful and fun! Fun is an absolute requirement in all of my future activities. You do know that art is in the eye of the big boulder, don’t you?

There have already been some huge sales just today. I gave a few friends an advance chance, and it was very very very successful. I have a giant step up on selling it all. I expect constant calls tomorrow about the ads and visits all week. One visitor from today will likely return early tomorrow to purchase the shipping container and ’41 parts/trailer.

So, we are setting out on a new journey. This by choice as the potential for very unpleasant events await us should we remain here.

I hope that your journeys are by choice and fun!
